ARE VIDEO GAMES
BENEFICIAL?

People are increasingly under the impression that
brain-training apps will safeguard them against memory
loss or corgnitive disorders, but according to re-
searchers this was not the case.
On the contrary, a study published in Nature found that
through the use of 3-D video games, cognotive perfo-
mance was improved in older adults with effects on the
brain associated with reversed aging and the formation
of memories.
Strategy video games, in particular, have shown promise
in improving brain function among older adults and may
provide protection against dementia and Alzheimer’s
disease.
Evidence shows that video games may be a
viable treatment for depression and improve memory and
mood in adults with mild cognotive imparment.
I believe video games provide posi-
tive effects to us. Many people
think that video games are harmful
to both children and adult, but in
reality, they are indeed beneficial
by the way they engage and tend to
connect with different aspects of
our lives. Overall, they can
promote healthy living and somehow
increase our social activities.
POSITIVE ASPECTS
  • In my opinion, I think video games can im-
prove learning. Games allow students to learn
faster and apply what they learn in a real-
    life situation.
  • Video games can also teach the user to work
as a team, and prioritize what they think
    might be the most important.
  • It is a known fact that video games can help
improve how our brain functions and its abil-
    ity to process information.
  • There's a wide variety of video games out
there on just about everything in which can
help boost our mood and help relieve stress.
NEGATIVE ASPECTS
Video games are not entirely evil.
Most of its negative effects occurs
due to excessive use and addiction:
  • It can reduce motivation.
  • Poor mental health.
  • Social disconnection.
  • Risk of addiction
